Dinosaur Lots at the Morrison exit
The Dinosaur Lots, or sometimes called Hogback Lots, are located at Morrison exit (#259) on the west side of Denver.    Made up of three separate lots: Wooly Mammoth with 918 spots, T-Res with 156 spots and the Stegosaurus with  117 spots.  These lots are an ideal place to begin and end a carpool.  The lots are state owned (on CDOT right-of-way), but patrolled by the Jefferson County Sheriff Department.

There are occasional car break-ins so be aware of what you leave in your car. Overnight parking is allowed.  There is no formal limit to how many nights you can park there, but the patrol does take note of cars that have been there an extended period and might be abandoned.

The Wooly Mammoth is the large, newer lot and has plenty of lighting. The T-Rex has no lighting at all so is not ideal for nighttime use.
