Lawmakers Dedicate $ to Transportation!

It is great news that the state legislature came together in the final hours of the session to dedicate funding to our state’s transportation system!  SB18-001 calls for $645M for transportation projects over the next two years and $50M per year thereafter.  While most of the money will go to statewide priorities like the I-70 corridor, 15% will go to multi-modal transportation, such as mass transit or bike lanes, and 15% will flow to local governments for local projects.  This funding package is a drop in the bucket relative to Colorado’s $9B backlog in transportation projects, but we’ll take it!

Weekend Travel Forecast

I-70 mountain communities are definitely in mud season, but there is still plenty to do in the high country.  Head up with your road bike or get some last turns in at Arapahoe Basin.  Traffic volumes will be low and the weather mild so a great weekend for I-70 travel!
