The weather is predicted to be dry along the I-70 mountain corridor through Saturday but periods of moderate to heavy snow is forecasted for Sunday.
Friday WB – Some slowing due to congestion is possible 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Saturday WB – Moderate to heavy traffic is likely from 6:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. with the peak delays occurring around 8:00 a.m. Last year travelers experienced 40 minutes of extra travel time between C470 and Frisco.
Sunday WB – There were 10 minute delays between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on this day last year. Snowy conditions could further slow travel.
Saturday EB- While the volume of traffic is not expected to be significant, avoid the 2:30-6:00 p.m. timeframe just in case.
Sunday EB –Plan to avoid the 11:00 a.m.- 8:30 p.m. timeframe. Last year traffic was at its heaviest around 4:00 p.m. and resulted in 50 minutes extra travel time. Snowy weather and roads can have a huge effect on I-70 travel so check the current road conditions at CoTrip.org before you head out.
