Weather A Factor This Weekend!
Traffic volume is not expected to be high this weekend, but weather will very likely play a part in I-70 travel. Heavy snow is in the forecast Thursday to Friday morning, and there is a chance for snow Saturday night through Sunday. Allow for extra travel time, and check your tire tread before you leave home!
Friday WB – Traffic volume will not be heavy, but roads could be snow packed and/or icy resulting in slow travel.
Saturday WB – Last year there were 20 minute delays on this date between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. It will be best to avoid the 6:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. timeframe.
Saturday EB- On this Saturday last year, there were eastbound delays of 30 minutes between Noon and 6:00 p.m., mostly due to bad road conditions. Weather could also cause delays this Saturday.
Sunday EB – Congestion should not be significant this afternoon, but avoid the 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. timeframe when traffic is the most likely to occur. Check the road conditions at CoTrip.org before you jump on I-70!
