HIT THE TRAILS IN VAIL USING TRANSIT

Did you know you can access amazing trails in Colorado’s High Country completely car-free? The Town of Vail’s Bus It to Hike It program helps connect those seeking to commune with nature to trailheads using the Town of Vail’s free bus.You can take transit, such as Bustang or Pegasus, to the Vail Village Transportation Center. Once you arrive, make your way to the western end of the top level of the Transportation Center to catch a Town of Vail bus to various trailheads. Seasonal bus routes and times can be found here.

New this summer, Vail’s Hiker Express shuttle offers an express alternative to the town’s regular East Vail bus route with 30-minute direct service from the Vail Transportation Center to bus stops near the East Vail Trailheads. It runs daily June 2 through Sept. 3, and Fridays through Sundays, Sept. 8, through Oct. 8.

Whether you chose a relaxing, meandering stroll via the Gore Creek Path or a more challenging hike through pristine alpine forests to the many offshoots of the North Trail, Vail has you covered. Skip the driving and parking and use transit instead.
