In August 2024, the GoI70 campaign partnered with Instagrammer Nelson Holland of @FatBlackAndGettinIt. His account focuses on outdoor recreation inclusivity, providing inspiration and motivation for anyone regardless of shape, size or skin color.
GoI70 helped Nelson plan a trip to Frisco using Pegasus, the Colorado Department of Transportation’s transit shuttle that travels on I-70 with stops between Denver and Avon. Once in Frisco, Nelson used Summit Stage, Summit County’s free bus, to get to the Frisco Bay Marina. He spent the morning kayaking (for the first time!) on Dillon Reservoir and then enjoyed lunch on Frisco Main Street before returning back to Denver on Pegasus.
Nelson loved leaving the driving to someone else and the accessibility of using transit to the mountains. The partnership with @FatBlackAndGettinIt offered the opportunity to engage with his 149,000 followers, with many commenting that they weren’t previously aware they could travel to the mountains car-free.
