CONSTRUCTION IMPACTS ON AND NEAR I-70

This summer season we have gotten lots of questions about construction on and near I-70. Earlier in the summer we discussed the westbound peak period shoulder lanes, but that is just one of several projects that are worth watching out for and planning around. Below is a list of projects that may be impacting your high country travels.

  • -Stanley Road reduced to one lane with two-way travel directed by temporary traffic signals
  • -Working hours: 7am – 5pm, Monday – Thursday; 7am – 3 pm, Friday

US 6 Improvements Over Loveland Pass

  • -Expect up to 20-minute delays for traffic alternating within a single lane
  • -Working hours: 6am – 7 pm, Monday – Friday

Silver Plume Westbound On-Ramp Sound Wall

  • -Crews will close the on-ramp as they complete ramp safety and drainage improvements
  • -Detour for those traveling west on I-70 from Silver Plume: Go east to Georgetown and re-enter the highway there

Eisenhower/Johnson Memorial Tunnels Asphalt Repairs

  • -One lane of traffic will be maintained during work
  • -Working hours: 8pm – 5:30pm
